Tell a story at our open mic night!

From time to time we’re asked to bring the “Milk and Cookies Show” to other venues and events, but for the most part, we’ve had to say no. Because the Milk and Cookies show isn’t a show, not really, we just set up a cosy space. It is all the wonderful people who come and tell stories at our event who make the show… So come tell a story at our open mic night – it happens  on the second Tuesday of every month in Exchange Dublin, Temple Bar. It doesn’t need to be an epic tale or a polished one. As long as you tell it with truth and with passion, people will listen.  One little thing, before you tell your story, just sneak a peak at our open mic guidelines so you know what you can expect at our event.

Share the love with a batch of cookies! (And enter them in our Bake-Off.)

Since our very first open mic night, lovely people have been making donations of their own home-baked goods… We think sharing baked goods is one of the most wonderful ways to share love- and we love to share love at Milk and Cookies! We invite you to celebrate with us and add your home-baking to the mix at our open mic night- and, of course, enter your home-baking in our Bake-Off, the fun baking competition we run at each one of our open mic nights… Just beware, we don’t have any cutlery at Milk and Cookies, so make sure whatever you bring is finger food and can be eaten without a plate, fork or spoon!

We like to think of Milk and Cookies as a group effort… Milk and Cookie Stories is run by a team of really amazing people, who do all sorts of things to make our events and our projects happen. They bake cookies, they organise things, they tell stories and help other people tell stories, they plan meetings (and parties), they write articles, they make crafts, they serve coffee (and tea)… You name it, they do it, and all out of love for Milk and Cookies, because Milk and Cookies is staffed entirely by unpaid volunteers.

Milk and Cookies loves new people. We are always on the look-out for new volunteers to join our team. Whether you have just an hour to spare here and there or more, and whatever your talents are, there is a place for you on the Milk and Cookies team. Make a donation…

Milk and Cookies is a not-for-profit venture, run entirely an amazing team of unpaid volunteers. All our events are free, and at our open mic night, the tea, coffee and the cookies, they’re free too! We have been hard at work in our cookie lab at work trying to discover the recipe for self-replicating cookies… but, despite minor burns and explosions, we haven’t quite succeeded yet. Until we do, and cookies really can bake themselves for free, we need the donations of good people like you to keep the Milk and Cookies flowing! Milk and Cookies loves you!

How do you make a donation? We have high hopes that one day you’ll be able to do so right here on our website, but until that day, come along to one of our events and drop a few coins in our cookie jar – or, if you’re feeling really generous,  contact us and we’ll gladly find a way to take your generous offerings of your hands. They say that money can’t buy love, but at Milk and Cookies, we’re doing our best to prove that wrong! Buying one of our craft items is another way you can support Milk and Cookies. Our crafts are hand-made by members of our team and are packed full of Milk and Cookies love. All the profits generated from our crafts are plunged right back into Milk and Cookies, so we can continue to bring you our free story-filled and cookie-tastic events!
