Milk and Cookies is a non-profit storytelling group based in Dublin, Ireland. We’re looking to find out what stories our city has to tell.
We believe that storytelling and storyreading are arts that deserve to placed in the spotlight. Dublin needs a place for people to come to hear a good story, and maybe tell one – we aim to provide that place. Milk and Cookies isn’t just for writers and performers – we would like anyone who has a tale to tell, or wants to hear a story told well, to have a warm, relaxed environment to do just that. A place with tea, cushions, cookies and friends.
With this in mind, in October 2009, Milk and Cookie Stories launched an exciting new event for storytellers, experienced or not, to exchange stories, both traditional and innovative. A whole bunch of events in, our monthly storytelling open mic night is going from strength to strength… packing our venue to capacity every time with people, cookies and stories…
So if you feel like giving the TV a miss for a night and hearing great stories well told instead, come to one of our open mic night. On the second Tuesday of every month in Exchange Dublin, you’ll find all sorts of people telling thrilling tales in a warm, cosy atmosphere. Milk and Cookies features a mix of invited and open performances, with original creations, folk tales, true-life stories and fiction being told and read. Our events are free, and everyone is welcome.
So come! Tell a tale, or don’t. Read a story, or just listen, and have a cookie. But do come! And if there is a story inside you, don’t be shy.
